Long week. It had a bit of everything.

I’m glad to have the weekend here.
I hope to have some quiet time to work on a portrait or two at some point.

I thought I would pass along some sites I have been enjoying as of late.

SkinArt.com is a new site that encourages artists in love with their moleskine sketchbooks to share the work they have been creating. In one month the site has exploded. Many new posts a day appear and all of them have something that is cool about them. I can’t wait to see how the site grows. If I don’t become to much of a pain for the mods.

laurevolume.com Is a great treat to spend time at. The art is amazing and I find something new each time I am on the site. I love the colors.

zaxart.com has great work on it and looks like it’s updated daily. Real rough feel to it. I love the pen work.

Work has been busy. The girls are good and the weather gets warmer.
Hope to have more in a bit.

Much better week this week. Very busy and no time to really do much else but work.
Things are going along smooth both at work and at home.
I have not been able to work in my sketchbook in a while. I still keep it with me as much as possible. It’s just tough to crack and get working in it.
The girls are good.

Weather is starting to change quickly. Storms soon I think.
I love thunder storms.

Sorry for the lack of posting.

Monday had the cat waking Amy and I up at 3 or 4 in the morning. = bad sleep.

Tuesday had Amy getting really sick at around 9 at night. It seemed to stop around 6 in the morning. It was not nice to her and set her back the whole week. = no sleep for anyone.

Wednesday had 4 of our designers being let go with a total of 12 people in our building. It was not easy to deal with for most people in the room, and I wish the 4 of them the best.
I think most of them will do well. Now we just focus on where to go and what to do now.
= downer day.

Thursday Maelee got what Amy had on Tuesday. Same thing. Same time Same problems. = not much sleep for anyone.

Friday wasn’t horrible. Just getting things ready for the weekend. Maelee had moved on to other forms of being sick and was not in the best of moods.
The cat woke us again at 3 and Amy had to lock him in the basement so we could sleep = a 2 out of 5 for a day, with 5 being good.

Saturday was just more of the Friday. Maelee being sick. Plans falling through and nothing really happening.

Sunday was with my parents. They were great with Maelee, but I really couldn’t calm down and was almost antsy. Not really sure why. I have too much on my mind I think.
I have had the worst heart burn. It’s been bad since Wednesday. Really painful. Haven’t eaten much, and what I do eat would have given John Candy heart burn. No mystery on why I’ve had it. I need to eat better. I think what happened at work has had some to do with it as well. I can’t calm my thoughts. Nothing bad. Just don’t have focus. I just want to do a ton of things.
Get together with friends.
Work on my portraits.
Go sit some where in public and sketch.
Read, play with my daughter, Spend time with the wife.
Get out by myself. I need a break. A vacation.

Mountains, Gandalf, I want to see the mountains again!

I will try to have something for you in this new and much better week.
The weather will be better and the week will be productive. I am looking forward to getting a lot done.

I’ve started my portraits and am moving right along with them.
I really wanted to do 5 of them, but it’s been knocked down to 4 with a total of 6 people in all.
I don’t mind. It’s been great to get my markers out again. These things are 10 years old or older and still hold up. (most of them, some have died)
Here are two the four. Color is off from the photos

I put down the pencils first and then fill in the marker. I work very opaque. So markers are great when starting the jobs. These are just base colors for the pieces. Many of the colors will change or be totally worked over. To give you an idea on what I’m working twards, It’s how these were done.
I’m not done with the marker yet. I have a bit more work to do and then I will move on to Pencils and paints. Hope to have an update for you soon.
